FlyDubai were awarded their Air Operator Certificate (AOC) or operations licence yesterday. Just as well, their first flight is scheduled to depart for Beirut on 01 June 2009, less than a week from today. The air operating certificate was awarded by the General Civil Aviation Authority in the UAE (GCAA). Was that cutting it fine, and if so, why?
