Jones or Joe the Grocer Abu Dhabi opened up shop this month according to a press release 28 September 2009. Jones Abu Dhabi was apparently scheduled to open in June 2009 according to a February 2009 press release. Jones the Grocer is based in Australia but also has a supermarket in Singapore and one in Auckland NZ (in Newmarket according to the JTG website). The Abu Dhabi Jones shop is in the Al Mamoura area, corner of 4th and 15th streets. See also other Abu Dhabi supermarkets, although they all sound second rate now.
Lots of gourmet goodies available, and a cafe with posh coffee. The cheese room sounds particularly smelly and inviting. Got tired of leafing through the dictionary though - the press release read like a scrabble board. I thought them Ockers spoke normal … mate?
