GEMS Wellington Academy is the new GEMS school in Dubai Silicon Oasis scheduled to open September 2009, not that you’d think so to look at it. It’s still pretty much a shell and looks a good way from being finished. GWA was previously being called DSO Smart School and/or Wellington International School). Other schools GEMS has in the planning stages are:
- Abu Dhabi World Academy - supposed to open September 2008 but what happened?
- Ajman American School - presumably cancelled or on hold, nothing heard since the initial news several years ago.
- Cambridge School Jumeirah Village - opening date unknown
- Cambridge School Al Quoz - opening date unknown
- Dubai Modern High School - not a new school but recently moved to plush new buildings at a new location in Nadd Al Sheba (on the same road as Repton Dubai).
- Wellington International School Palm Jumeirah - opening date unknown
