New York University Abu Dhabi (NYU Abu Dhabi) campus opens according to press release 07 December 2009, although NYU AUH has been offering lectures and courses since it was established in October 2007. First undergraduate class starts in August 2010. The Abu Dhabi campus is in downtown Abu Dhabi until the Saadiyat Island campus opens, which was scheduled for 2012 but has been delayed until 2014 according to the press releases about the opening ceremony. Downtown location is in the Al Hosn area near the Abu Dhabi Corniche, between Al Istiqalal St and Al Nasr St.
