UAE nurseries open H1N1

Nurseries in Dubai and the UAE will remain open after all despite the H1N1 scare. On 08 September 2009, WAM announced that theĀ UAE Ministry of Social Affairs had ordered nurseries and special needs centers to close indefinitely, apparently not thinking much about the consequences of that action. The Gulf News reported the next day that the ministry had done a U-turn and nurseries could stay open after all, resulting in a sigh of relief from teachers who wouldn’t lose their jobs or salaries, nurseries that wouldn’t go out of business, and parents who didn’t have to find nannies or take time off from their jobs at short notice to stay at home with the children.
