The University of Dubai was renamed in 2006 from Dubai University College. And before DUC Dubai, it was called Dubai Polytech / Polytechnic from 1997-2001. University of Dubai (UD or UOD) is in a central location in Deira (translation - frequent traffic jams and difficult parking), along the Dubai Creek in Al Rigga.
